    Bar Ends

    Bar Ends

Are there different sizes, if so what size fits 2006 transalp ?
I guess I just cut a hole on the rubber grips and slot them in ?

Any info welcome as I live in the middle of nowhere and have to mail order most things.

there are two basic sizes of bar ends
one for steel bars and one for alloy bars
After that its a matter of weight and taste

There are bar end weights in each end of the bars. They reduce the vibrations felt in your hands. You will either have to push them in deeper or take them out using force. It will be a case of cutting open the grips at the ends and slotting them in once the weights have been moved. I would leave the weights in if you can as once removed you would propably not be able to fix them back in unless you buy new "clips".

Why not fit brush guards in stead, they will offer more protection for your hans, levers and bar ends.

They look much better, and like you say, better protection.
    I will look into it.

When buying hand guards it is worth paying for decent ones, alloy reinforced are always a bonus. DO NOT buy cheap hand guards they can be more dangerous than not having any at all in an accident.

Decent brands are Acerbis, Cycra, UFO and Ego. The first two have spares available if required.

Faantjie....where did those come from ? ie. which supplier ? they're really smart. Am slowly building up protection around the bike, got the TT crash bars organised & those look a good solution for the h/bars.

    Re: Bar Ends

They are Acerbis brush guards. I looked on their website to find the ones I liked and then bought the cheapest ones on E-Bay. Cannot remember the suppliers name, didn't really pay too much attention. As soon as they arrived I ripped open the parcel and went straight to fit them. It takes a bit of fiddling but they do go on without interfearing with any thing on the bike. I wanted the the Touratech guards but then found the Acerbis guards (in my fiew 100% the same, different name) at a much cheaper price.
