    Bike Lifts

Has anyone got or tried one of these lifts.
Saw one come up on the GS'er site and then get snapped up.
They look seriously good and I think I might be interested in one.

Well I did seriously think about making something but then again its lifting a bike and I don't trust myself!
They are about £325 as well so it seems good value and they show you how sturdy they are.

    Re: Bike Lifts

I have a motor mover .. ok, its not a lift, but it was more than capable of moving the AT around and helping it fit into my garage.

Bought mine from M&P .. it eventually came after 4 or so phone calls !

    Re: Bike Lifts

Dave, how would you go about removing the wheels, is there another part to support the bike when a wheel is removed?

A conventional table lift would allow this if you have a centre stand.

Bike lifts are fab, particularly if you suffer from a bad back....

The wheel lift is an optional extra.

    Re: Bike Lifts

looks a bit flimsy for my taste, had bikes fall off a similar sort of mX stand and ended up doing a lot of damage! (and that was from half the height!)... no way on earth would i have put my quad on that either, guess if your only going to poke and prod the bike then it would be ok but nothing more.

and at £325 is that not more expensive than a conventional bike lift as well???

    Re: Bike Lifts

That's what I thought but on their site they show some pretty impressive lean angles with the bike not toppling over on the stand.

If you have the room, When i was rebuilding a couple of harleys.. I made a platform about 90cm high and the top was 1.5 x 2.5 m with a removeable ramp.. could just ride (wheel) the bike up and bobs your uncle... I reall just stacked a bunch of rail road sleepers as the base.

That's the problem I'm really tight on space and this looked ideal.
Mind you need to buy a new BBQ so it may have to wait.
