    Scottoiler

Just fitted a scottoiler mk7 touring to my transalp, the instructions were crap but i managed to get it fitted after a bit of trial and error on routing the pipework etc.
has anybody else fitted this kit, I am especially keen to know how the high capacity resorvior will cope mounted behind the number plate( vibration etc) and will the number plate light still be legal slightly less lit?
    opinions and experiences?

I didn't have any problems on a good 40K with the HCR fitted behind the number plate.
Rock solid and lighting wasn't a problem.
    Forum help and advice needed?

Be carefull with the HRC behind the plate. They can be illegal if the light is not enough to illuminate the plate (it really depends on the country if they care or not) But I had a friend who got in lots of trouble in Germany for just that.. As a result I have sunk my in to the mud guard, I had lots of talks with the scot tech guys and they like the idea.. I'll take some shots and submit em with a how to..

Why not swop for the original filling container? I have some maluminium and we could make a nice little holder for you.....

My brother had an XR400 with a Hamster water bottle, surgical tubing and a drip fitted. Never failed, just had to remember to stop the flow when not using the bike.

That would work but a Tomato / HP sauce bottle is free. You also need to vent the bottle otherise the vacuum would overide the suction from the scotoiler. The scotoil bottle would work as well. Also needs some protection from the elements as well - oil and water don't mix, although I don't suppose it matters too much as long as there's enough oil.

By the way the sauce bottle idea was Phil Piguglyshandydrinker's idea that I shamelessy copied - I am sure he would be claiming IPR by now if he was around.
