    Baglux Tank Bag fitting question

Just checking to see if anyone has one of these Baglux tank bags - fitting instructions were usefully omitted but I've followed my nose (anyone that's met me will know it's easy enough to find ) and it's on OK so far as I can tell...

I am unsure about the placement of the side/bottom hooks one toward the bottom of each side with a stretchy rubber strap and a flat plastic hook on the end to grab hold of the bottom edge of the tank.
Question is: Did you have to remove the trim that runs along the bottom of your tank to fit it?

Mine's an AT, BTW, but I expect it's the same fitting on all trail style bikes?

    Thanks
    Steve

If you've got as far as fitting the bottom clips, you're nearly there Steve. I stuck a bit of insulation tape on to the tank as well as the plastic strip.

It might be Baglux that have altered the fittings as I was sure the clips fastened onto my previous AT easier, and they have altered the shape of the bag.

    Thanks Shel
Just realised I've been vague as usual. The side straps are on the tank COVER.
Hence the trying to get the hooks under the bottom edge of the tank. Sorry about that.

The bag, on the other hand, seems very Heath Robinson Some strange plastic rotating loops on the tank cover... are they supposed to match up with something on the bag do you know? I have loosened a couple of straps so that a D ring on each side do get within range, but it seems a bit, well, made up on the spur of the moment

Re: Baglux Tank Bag fitting question

Just fitted a Baglux cover on my AT and yes, I had to take off the rubber strips along the bottom of the tank

As for the bags. Be careful as there only a couple of bags that fit the Twin.

I made this mistake and bought a map pocket that is too long. This is the standard size. The bag I just ordered to fit is a "City Trail"

I think the "Dzeta" is the only other one that fits. Worth checking with Baglux first

    Hope this helps

Thanks for that - nice to have it confirmed.
Eeek, bag. I ordered something called Medea, but what arrived was a Minea.
tried it on the bike - it seems to fit - albeit a bit Heath Robinson.
Think I'll check it out with Demon Tweaks - the folks I got it from.
    Thanks for your help!

Re: Baglux Tank Bag fitting question

    No probs

Glad to be of some help

The distance from the center of the clips at the back to the (very easy to break!) rotating clips at the front is about 250mm on the tank cover.
On the (incorrect) map pocket it is adjustable, but the least I can butcher it down to is about 380mm.

Check these out if it helps:

Re: Baglux Tank Bag fitting question

Thanks SammoJim - I might be OK though because when I tried it on, it wasn't too long.

Now Boris the bike's got all his clothes off again because his fuel pump failed as I set off for work - at least I hadn't reached the motorway!
So I'll check the bag again once the new one's in and I'm moving agin
