    foot pegs....

bike rebuild is whipping along nicely ( this was meant to be a winter project but should be fairly finished by end of the month!) so my mind is wandering!!!

the stock pegs on the xtz are naff, not very wide and have a bad off set hight for long distance riding off road so i was going to change them or fab up something new. Has anyone tried powerpegs (or similar, propegs, etc etc) as I'm keen to know how they got on with the swivel action and how strong they were for riding standing up!.... another option is a set of touratech wide pegs as the increased pad area is a must ( get your feet run over by a quad and you will soon learn why!), anybody running them?

    Have a great weekend.

jenna when i had my GS i fitted a pair of fastway footpegs if you could adapt these to fit the yam mounts you wouldnt be dissapointed they are superb quality and provide a fantastic footprint...im thinking of trying to adapt a set to the vara

    Re: foot pegs....

yep seen the fastway, its much the same as the touratech (probably made by the same people), its certainly a larger pad area than stock but its a fixed area which i can make using the stock peg with a larger top.

propegs also rotate which is spose to make it much easier to lift the shifter and when you ride standing up the whole of your foot stays on the pad unlike a fixed one where you use just the front edge (thats the bit under the ball of the foot)........... at £100+ a pair i not keen to try out the theory and find its just marketing hype!!
