JENNA ADVICE NEEDED>>>Aussie to Brit translation...bump

Hey guys I want to get a pipe bent up so I can connect my down pipes to the endcan..(in a high position) see this thread for why/what..
    rh rear panel

So I jump on Yell.com and type in exhaust shops Birmingham... nothing...
okay I says.. muffler shops ...nuthing...

Auto exhausts... stock suppliers only SO>>>>>>> What the hell do you call a shop that installs mufflers in cars in this country?

Or if every one just goes to a "normal" mechanic.. where can i get a pipe bent and welded up?

Don`t know wether you noticed my @ at the national but I had a complete exhaust made at a place called Longlife in Cardiff I think it`s part of a franchise you might have one in your area, they make stainless exhausts for cars mainly but I told them what I wanted and they just bent the pipe and welded a silencer on

forget about exhaust specialist try local fabrication shops or pipe(tube) manipulators they should be cheaper to them its just a piece of pipe not a over priced exhaust

Xander, Jason has suggested that you are better off going to an engineering firm to do it as he doesn't think your standard exhaust fitter will do it.

He said if you look in the back of motorcycle news / bike mags you can find specialist exhaust people who may do it. He reckons it's a specialist job bending pipes

That's what HWMBO says, he lost me anyway

not to far from you there is guy at west end farm silverstone that does only one off's in headers and main exhaust pipes (specialises in stainless work) but F@~ked if i can find his phone number at the minute, if you dont find some one let me know and i will ring tts racing (next door) and get his details for you.

also ring OJZ Engineering, 01777 248844 they should be able to help.

Would that be mr Box ?
i had my car system made down that way, 3" SS with teflon inside to keep the temps under the bonnet down. he did a very nice job, but i have lost his number so if it is the same, post it up (i am looking for someone to make the manifolds when we get the V4 in the @) i am in scotland at the mo and it makes just popping to silverstone difficult.

If you would be so kind as to get the name/number of the guy at silverstone.
I just went to Topgear the Longlife agent near me.. and they wanted 50qiud for the pipe and an other 30 for the flange (I think ?>>>the flange price kept changing some times included sometimes not..). Either way that seemed a bit on the steep side for a 40cm pipe with two bends in it. And they were not willing to take any of the measurements themselves I had to do all the measurements and everything (including CAD drawing.. which i do not know how to do).. so it would IMHO 3 min work for £80... .. two simple bend, a flaring, and one weld (as they out source the flange anyway)...(that is what.. £1600 per hour..man i am in the wrong business) Almost seemed like i was not wanted there..

SO. For those in the know does this sound reasonable to you? ( I have had pipes bent up before but not in SS and they cost a 10er, but that was Aus.. and it was fitted by the guy.. ).. So am i dreaming or is this reasonable?

I think I would like to get other quotes before I hand over that kinda dosh..
