Thermostat? Does the V-twin have one?

I've noticed on the journey to work my TA (650) temperature gauge doesn't move much from the cold position, once in traffic it's fine and creeps up to the middle area.

I'm guessing this is a problem with the Thermostat stuck open, or has it always read like this but I've never noticed. I presume the V-Twin has a thermostat?

Does your temperature gauge go straight to the middle after a reasonable warm up period.

    cheers

Nope, my temp gauge only moves a little and I have to be sat at traffic lights for quite some time before it gets anywhere near half way on my transalp. If you have a look in the transalp section there has been a few threads about this in there

The needle on my AT barely moves unless stopped in traffic, then it goes up. Once re-started it goes right back down again.

They all do that sir. Tis said you can go 3 or 4 years before finding out if your fan works.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Covering the l/h radiator in winter helps the bike to warm up quicker and holds a more normal temp
