    Question Re-anodising alloy wheels???

Does anyone know if it is possible to re-anodise aluminium wheel rims when the coating has been damaged?

It's quite popular to re-anodise wheels, though not sure if the old coating would have to be completely stripped back. But as with any wheel the old grease/corrosion would also have to be stripped completely back and the wheel given an acid bath before recoating.

Thanks Kymmy, do you have any contacts or people you could suggest/recommend who could do this.

All I can suggest is to look in the back of the bike mags...the only ones local to us is Philpotts in Luton (Craddock Road near the Dunstable road Tesco) but we've never used them as everything we've done on cars/bikes was BZP or Soft/Hard Chrome

contact 'brokenlegs' (mark) in the sm forum on visordown, kymmy is correct, acid strip

you may want to think about powder coating as a cheaper option.
