Talking Stebel Nautilus Compact OMG my ears are bleeding!!!!!!

I have just fitted a Stebel Nautilus compact air horn to my AT

It is abso fookin lutely awsome

It is seriously loud at 139dB and its enough to make a juggernaut driver think twice.

The first ride out I got to use it in earnest. I was stopped at Traffic lights about 5 cars back from the lead vehicle who it transpired was in the wrong lane and chatting on his mobile (No hands free set). Anyway after the lights changed in my lane he just sat there yapping. The car immediately behind gave him a polite little peep on their Horn which was followed by a slightly more aggressive Paaarp Paaarp from the next car back. As the guy was still chatting and oblivous to everyones growing impatience I thought I'd be cheeky and give him both barrels from the new Nautilus.......... Well, it made me jump and I knew it was about to happen! ............. Everybody looked around to see where the freight train had suddenly appeared from, and all the other horns fell silent. Chump at the lights dropped his phone and the clutch at the same time and kangarooed across the junction in a direction he originally had no intention of taking . Result!!!!

Only problem is now I have to fit one Mrs Gromits Transalp too. She has nearly forgiven me for demonstrating it in the Garage. She very kindly brought me a cup of coffee while I was finishing off out there. There's me with a big grin on my face and my earplugs in.
Listen to thisssss says I and promptly hits the button..................... Well after the coffee had stopped dripping from the ceiling and I'd swept up the broken cup from the floor and Mrs Gromit had finished yelling about being inconsiderate and how I might have warned her and how it hurt her ears. I took out the earplugs and tried to explain the benefits. She eventually calmed down but by then I'd committed myself to buying one for her.

    Get one but be careful!!!

I'll see what I can do Alpslapper. I've got some ideas, but the biggest problem I can see is where to mount it. On the AT the location was relatively easy although it took me a while making a fancy bracket for the fairing frame. The Alp doesn't have as much accessible space under its fairing.

The wiring initially was relatively simple. You have no choice but to wire in a new circuit from the battery. This little baby draws 18Amps so it has to go through a relay. I have used really heavy wire to minimise any volt drop and get the maximum noise output. When I get around to fitting it I will post some details and photos.

    Hehehe...

I've got a stebel magnum, and yes it's great to pass underneath stray bicyclists going ballistic.

But indeed, everybody has this where's the bloddy titanic look.

I don't have any pictures of it but it won't take long to whip the fairing off and take some for you.

I bought one of these a year ago to fit on another bike, but ended up selling the bike before fitting the Stebel. As the horn on my TA 'fades' if I use it for more than a second (gets inceasingly higher pitched and fades out to nothing - bit like a comedy horn - more likely to make people laugh than react in the way I'd like ) I think it's about time I fitted the Stebel.

I was reckoning to fit it inside the belly pan somewhere near the front, but haven't got any closer to doing it yet - this thread might just give me the push I need.
