    Honda spring rates

    Hello

Does anybody know the spring rates in hondas. Africa twin, Dominator, transalp. Race tech have nice calculators but covers only "off-road" hondas, not these all-rounders. Everything would be nice t know, also what springs you have in aftermarket shocks.

Cant help you on that one, but i'd love to know as well

Checked my Haynes manual, but its not listed in there, and my old spring should have a number on it, but its worn away so i have no idea.

Have you checked your existing spring - it should have some numbers stamped or painted on.

Spose another way is to take the spring to a suspension specialist, i think they have rigs that can measure the spring rate - might do this myself if i get the time.

If I remeber my standard RD04 spring were about 0.48's, I cut em shorter to make em about 0.6's

    Re: Honda spring rates

    Some information:

    stock africa twin rear spring(rd04, i think rd03 too) about 10 kg/mm
stock dominator rear spring (rd02) about 13 kg/mm

wilbers recommends for about 75 kg driver for dominator 16 kg/mm spring.

So if any africa twin owner needs stiffer rear spring go for dominator spring. If you put dommie spring to africa twin then the cover of shock shaft have to be removed.

    Re: Honda spring rates

    Hello

Wilbers spring rate was asked from wilbers and others have been calculated. And from some internet site was mentioned that AT spring in 10 kg/mm. And touratech supplies 10kg and some heavier springs for AT so they could be right??

But these figures are not the truth, but give some directions.
