    Tent Advice required please

    Hi all
Am considering buying a new tent.
    Factors in order of importance:
    1. It should fit in the top box. I have a fairly largish one, but with panniers etc have plenty of room for rest of gear. I hate having the tent strapped across the back of the seat etc.
    2. It should be preferably 3 man, but two man at a push.
    3. It should be at least 3 season, with fly pitching possible.
    4. Preferably two vestibules/entrances one at a push for damp gear storage.
    5. Decent quality, no rubbish, if I'm going to get one I should get a good one.

    Does such a thing exist?

    cheers and thanks in advance

Cause it does exist but its gone cost. You are looking at the top of the range and than you going to pay £300 plus!!!
The ideal tent which does everything you want but will not go into top box and panniers is the Kyam Biker
    http://www.khyam.co.uk/product_tent....acking/Cycling
I have got one as well as some other guys on the site and i must say this is the best tent i ever owned
I bought mine last year for £125 so don't look at their price, its just the first place i could find the pic
They call him "Ze Quiet one"
I listen to what the rice crispies tell me to do

That's a good looking/functional tent and, as m'Lord Vadar says, can be had for a good price. I use a Protech TQ for most trips; it's a four season and has done great service over more than ten years but would cost at least three times what this one costs and doesn't have that natty front porch
But mine does look rather sporting on the front fairing shelf...

RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

For our overland trip we used a Robert Saunders "mountain trek". Compact and light: two man with an entrance at each end: a nice and stable dome tent. We carried it across the top of the top box, but had space been allowing I think it would fit in the Givi E52 diagonally.

Could tick a fair few of your needs: have a look.

It has a side and front entrance which is nice when the weather is ok
lots of storing space for the bike gear as well space to dry out gear

I swear by my Mountain Hardware Trango 2.

Might not fit in many panniers but it hacks it on everest, has a life-time guarentee (which even covers you for having to bodge it in the wilds which then breaks other stuff - not many, if any will do that!), its light, has a porch and goes up in about 3 mins with prctice.

    Smashing.

Plus, now this is something I've never seen with ANY of the other millions of tents I've owned/used - no matter how badly you pack it, it ALWAYS fits back in it's bag!

Not cheap mind but I managed to get one from Tiso in Glasgow for 180 quid a couple of years back so bargains can be found........

I've got the Kyham Biker too!

Had my Kyham Igloo for about 12 years and still use it occasionally, it was so good that I went for the Biker version because of the extra storage and cooking room.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

As others have said, Khyam are a good choice. I've got a couple of the quick erect tents - one small two person one and one larger family tent. I can't get either one in the top box though but the quick erect system is just so good after years of sliding poles around and getting then tangled up.
