    Garmin Quest and Morocco

I know nothing about all this new-fangled technology but my mate has a Garmin Quest and has come across ads for Morocco GPS maps.

Anyone know if the two are compatible or what's involved in using these type of electronic/gps maps??

    Cheers

What kind of maps are they? Where do they come from?

someone correct me if im wrong (please, because i have a quest and i'd be interested), but the quest will only work with unlocked garmin maps. morocco isnt on the detailed europe maps, but you could use the worldmap perhaps, although its not very detailed. have a look on the garmin website, they may do a morocco or north africa city select/navigator

a good start would be to ask on the horizons unlimited forum, theres not much that lot dont know about GPSs

There are a few shareware sets around but from my understanding they're more geared towards handhelds through mapsource/gartrip/oziexplorer, I'll have a look at my own quest to see what it can take.

Where's Geobloke when you need him?

I've mentioned several times before that probably the best map of Morocco is available here. It's free for personal use and you load it straight into MapSource and onto your GPS.

It doesn't work great with a quest though, no autorouting, and the quest is a bit clumsy for route planning in the point to point /offroad mode. Great maps though. Ideal for a handheld. I wonder how the PDA version works?
