Engine rattle!

Hi

Can anyone help me? My 2001 Africa Twin has developed an
'engine rattle or chatter' that starts just above tick over. Its more of an annoyance than a problem. I was hoping it would be something simple like a washer loose on a bolt or a clamp insecure. But after closer inspection it appears to be internal.
I only bought it a few weeks back, it starts and runs great, and only done 16000miles. I got a feeling its the cam chain or tensioner.
Has anyone had this fault or done the repair? Also what price are the parts?

Hi everyone. I took my bike to a local mechanic a few days back, it turns out the camshaft has worn into the cylinder head (enfloat up and down).
Good news though, i've just tracked down a breakers with a complete head up country for £180 so i'm pretty happy now . I can't wait to have a bike that does'nt tick!

Don't think that's a common fault.
but a fairly cheap outcome.
