Tempting - Alpos panniers back available

Was just looking under Givi online, and found that Bykebitz of Yateley, Hants are now sticking the Alpos panniers that Caveman used to sell through EIBC, before he disappeared off the face of the planet.

£150 for the pair in either 32- or 36-litres, and £170 for a pair of 41-litres. They're also doing connectors to the SW-Motech Quick-Lock side carriers.

Very tempting - might think about that when I have some pennies....

Not a bad price - when you consider Touratech are £200 + for one pannier and mounting hardware.

I had a pair on my 1200GS. Excellent, good capacity and easily straightened after mishaps Used them with the SW motech frames.

Twas just a heads up - I had them on my Dominator, and was happy with them, hence why I'm thinking about getting them again. Didn't want to pay TT prices etc

Nice to see cheap bargains. Especially since i have just bought the complete Hepco & becker Expedition Aluminium cases and frames and they were £180 cheaper than the equvilent touratechs. I did look at the link and the locks on the Alpos really did seem quite budget, They're the same as i go on my locker door at work about £2 each

    Jasonbc.

Regarding your hepco luggage - can I ask where you bought them from mate. I'm off on a trip with the bike in a few weeks and have been delaying buying the TT stuff because of the price, but i'd really like some hard luggage and these sound just the ticket.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

I ordered 2 x 38litre expedition aluminium boxes and the 99 varadero fitting kit £440. Not everything that the sites supplies is on there website so if you want something e-mail them for detail. service is very good. Also i can still use my Givi top bop box to keep helmets in, and there are no issues with the boxes obstructing the pillions knees or legs

Re: Tempting - Alpos panniers back available

I've just sold one of my cars so I can afford some ally cases.

Alpos 41 litre ones with mounting kits and locks comes to £430.97 through Bykebitz.co.uk.

Touratech UK are charging £549.88 for a set of Zega cases.

The exchange rate is so bad at the moment that if I had a set of cases sent to my French address from TT France, it'd still cost me £527.

Are Zega cases worth £120 more than Alpos ones?
