    I've got a rusty rim!!!

Ural wheel rims: crappy chrome finish.

Only 650 miles and already there are specks of rust!! Russian quyality control I guess.

I have ACF 50. Any other recommended methods of protecting rims from road gack that do not involve cleaning them every 10 miles? Or is ACF 50 the best option?

this is a problem with russian/indian/chinese chrome. youre supposed to plate a layer of copper then nickel then the chrome on top, but they nearly always miss out the expensive nickel and sometimes the copper and chrome doesnt plate to copper or steel very well so it comes off easily.
if you can be bothered, strip the wheel, get the chrome stripped off and paint or powdercoat the rim. may well be cheaper to get a whole new alloy rim put on?

personally i would keep it for the authentic 'soviet shagbag' look, something important will have fallen off long before the rim rusts through.
no offence, i love the bloody things and want a 2WD outfit when i grow up

So do I, but I prefer to have a shagbag look that I can wash off.

I'll try the ACF 50 wiped on and see how it goes. I'm happy for crud to sit on the bike, as it makes it less tempting to eccentric theives with a penchant for the nostalgic, but it bothers me if the actual bike is then decomposing!

None taken although, by defninition, I think that growing up kind of goes against any concious decision to buy one of these contraptions!

I am well and truly fixed in my "terrible-twos" and I'm holding on tight!
