Got a 550 - you mean the fuel countdown?
You set the countdown to whatever mileage you get out of your tank then the zumo alerts you to a lack of fuel. I don't use mine as I got fed up with all the prompts!

AFAIK, the Zumo 400 only comes with UK & Ireland mapping in our two countries - no mapping for the rest of Europe, so you're out of luck if you want to travel further afield. The 500 comes with UK&I pre-loaded, but the rest of Europe on a DVD that you can add to an SD card, and the 550 comes with the whole of Garmin's Europe pre-loaded.

    Re: Garmin Zumo 400

Hi everyone thanks for the info , I got the Zumo 400 on the way home from work tonight . Samwise i knew it only had the UK/IRELAND Maps which suited me fine , Unless i get a lottery win i cannot see me getting as far as mainland Europe for the forseeable future. I had a Garmin Quest which worked great until about two weeks ago , Now it suffers from loss of signal every half hour or so when in use . You all have a point about the fuel warning alert , But you have to try it at least once . Thanks again for the info .Francis

The only advantage the Zumo's fuel count-down gives you over your bike's standard "last gallon" light is that an icon appears on-screen; press it and you get a list of nearby fuel stations.

This is quite handy to see on the move. However, it shows all nearby fuel stations, even those behind you or way off your route. If you are using your Zumo for navigating, i.e. it is directing you toward your destination, the Zumo has another neat trick. You'll need to come to a halt to do this.

Press "Where to?" At the bottom of the screen is a button labelled "Near...". One of the options is to search for destinations near your route. Then select "Food, lodging...". and fuel stations. The Zumo will then list fuel stations that are ahead of you on your route. (You don't need to turn on the fuel count-down to do this, but you do need to be navigating.)

Glad of this facility on the 550 at the mo as both my clocks are "down"at the moment ,,waiting in spedo drive "cog"to see if it will fix at least one of them,
