Hey oh mistresses of the Rally

There was some talk about using Diesel oil in a bike.

Best type of oil for my Africa twin 750?

I have done a bit of reading (net. so have to take with grain of salt).
Any way as you are the only people i know that actually are involved in rallies, And during my trip to Romaina (which seemed at times like a rally) and it was difficult to get bike oil let alone the castrol GPS that i had in the bike, and did not want to mix as i cant read romainan well enough. I decided to find out about this diesel thing.. cus that was cheep and very easy to get. So for long tours it would be better...

so Diesel oil in a bike..

1) good or bad?
2) what should we look out for?
3) do you do it? why / why not?
4) if i do it what consequences should i look out for..
5) I am using a hi-flow filter (as sold here ...I know i have to change it but) do i have to get a different type?
6)Changing over to the diesel oil... is it just like a new oil/filter change procedure, or do i have to some how flush out the bike? Or is it just a do the change and do an other one sooner then normal? (I tend to change every 3k-5k miles anyway and am do like now!)
