a bit of a tight spot

My son is gutted - his expensive DID Gold x-ring chain bought on my recommendation has developed a horrible tight spot. It has done about 8,000 miles and he keeps it well lubed via a scotoiler.

Can anything be done about tight spots?

Oh, not it makes any difference really, but its Honda 250 hornet.

That should still be under warranty (see the packaging). I thought a tight spot was the undamaged part of the chain, it's the rest of it that has stretched, therefore incurable??

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

    When did he buy it??

Just that the warranty on DID's is 20,000 miles or 12 months whichever comes first for X ring chains

Thanks Kymmy and Yen that's brilliant. Its only a few months old and he has got the receipt still. It came from Wemoto and they are normally pretty good with this sort of thing so looks like it could be a positive outcome.
