Could someone give me a hand?

I've got a 2 week trip to Scotland coming up, and I want the bike to get a good once over to make sure I don't get any surprises on the ride.

I've been calling around and to get a dealer to do this for me (small service, plus checkup) I'm looking at £250 at least!

I've neither the space, nor the tools, nor the knowledge to do this on my own, but if someone out there has, and could help me do the work (not do it for me, help me) I'd learn a valuable lesson about bike maintenance and would be very grateful.

Of course, food, drink, and everything else would be on me

It's a start The knowledge is far cheaper to get than the space & tools (provided you don't ruin your bike learning how to fix it).

Gulp, must be London pricing! I paid £280 for an 18K mile service on my 'alp, and that is a biggie.

    Hi Chad,

Many, many thanks for your offer that's great!

The trip isn't until August 15th, so there's still plenty of time.

I can come to Wickford on a weekend if that's easier for you. I'm away this weekend and next, but the weekend after is fine (weekend of August 1st).

Also, being Dutch, I have no idea what "biccies" are

Simmo, many thanks for the offer. I hope we won't have to take you up on it. If we're in the area and you're up for a beer, that's something else!
