    banjo bolt washers

Austin here - posting on Charlie's account

Are the washers that seal the banjo bolt to the caliper a special type of washer or just a regular one?

Other Son's aprilia 125 (again)not one of mine.

I have been at it all day today and the last thing is trying to bleed the back brake but they are leaking at the banjo bolt. I know I should have changed the washer but I thought they would be alright. Not so

they are a soft metal, usually a copper or aluminium alloy.

yeah thought so. I tried heating them up in a blowtorch to try and soften them again but it didn't work. New ones I guess then.

Works sometimes, but as you mentioned, not all are copper these days I still cheapskate on copper washers for tractor fuel lines and anneal them ....

they are usually just plain soft metal, aluminium or copper, but not always. some are high pressure 'dowty' type washers that have a rubber or vinyl seal on the inside of the metal. quite rare but a possibility.
