    Rugged Roads @ Rack Extension

Seen here. It says can be fitted with or without existing rack. Does that mean it can replace the plastic rack/pillion handles unit? Can anyone tell me how it fits? I'd like to replace the original unit with something a bit more sturdy. The one on my older @ has cracked due to overloading.

    Cheers
    Dylan

Hi dylan the RR rear rack only replaces the black top section of the africatwin rear rack, the silver part with the grab handles remains in place and our rack bolts directly to that

    hope this helps

hi chad, i notice you market it for the AT only, but if the six attachment holes are standard honda spacing of 70mm apart X 210mm(ish?, cant remember!) then it will fit on most honda racks because thats the honda topbox plate mounting holes.
my varadero 1000 is the same as the 125, also i believe the TA so probably the AT too. in fact it might not just be honda it maybe an industry standard because my mates suzuki is exactly the same.

if i see someone at a bike meet suspiciously going around measuring other folks bikes i'll know its you

Gotta say guys, I'm totally impressed with all the stuff you've done! More power to your respective elbows!!!
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

if this would fit my 07 Varadero 1000 the order will be winging its way today. I will go and measure the bolt hole spacing later then if someone can confirm....

    Okay thanks chad.

In that case, is there a replacement rack available that's able to take a bit more weight than the 10kg that the standard one is rated for?
