    Sat Nav Advice wanted

My trusty sat nav has died, so I'm looking for a relacement. I want to be able to plan a number of routes on my pc and then transfer them to the satnav. I also want to be able to get my track log off the satnav, onto my pc. I don't want to spend too much - about £150. In this price range (or just a little bit more) is the tomtom go 520 & 530, which seems to fit the bill.
Does anyone have one of these? Any comments? Can anyone recommend any others I should look at? I've heard horror stories of tomtom's after sales - are they really that bad !?

Zumo is good but very pricey.
Have you thought about a Quest 1?
Going for about £80 on ebay and a very reliable unit which will do everything you want from a satnav.

I have the Zumo550 but is out of the price range you specified but it is a brilliant bike satnav.

Seriously, you don't know the half of it, do a forum search for tomtom or tomtom rider and look for the name stuart123456789 and read with horror. It's the truth too as i have had similar experiences with tomtom "customer care"

I do like the look of the zumo - but I really can't spend that kind of cash. £150 - £200 really is it.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

I use a tomtom 510 for road use and can't fault it at all, they don't cost a lot of money now and are really good but wont do track back for off-road use i use a Garmin gpsmap60csx which is very accurate and will do track back but i don't know what the autorouting city navigator is like is certainly won't be the same standard as dedicated road systems and the screen is smaller to view. Why not try the new SATMAP that gives full OS 1:25000 mapping but again dont know if it's any good for road use

I agree. I bought one a month or so ago. Waterproof, 20hrs of battery, powered bike kit, car kit ........etc etc. really versatile tool. Ticks all the boxes you mention above.

A friend got a perfectly good garmin 2610 off of ebay for 75 pounds. its worth a look, I keep thinking of upgrading my 2610 but every time I do I seem to find yet another thread with someone complaining their zumo has let them down.
