Sorry is this £50 per caliper or for both of them?

Spanner in hand, think mine are still serviceable and this is a bargain

His email say £50 each. If it was both of them, I dare say he'd have a really hard time staying in business. Considering I priced up a new set of seals for both front and back brakes from DSS today and they came in at around £20 this is an absolute bargain! Glad I didn't order the seals earlier.

They may not have fitted but I can almost guarantee that their colour went with the bike much better than the ones you would have bought

At least she took them back. You could have ended up with a cupboard full of pairs you'll never use

On the other hand, she could have concluded the obvious solution was to go out and buy a bike to go with them?

    Re: Brake caliper refurbishment

    Hi all
What with work and life in general sorry for not replying sooner to this thread.
As icenian has already posted i can provide a full caliper rebuild [or part rebuild to your requirements] to most brake calipers.
For the twin pots [and the single pot rears] its £49.50 per caliper, thats for the full service, fully stripped, bead blast, powder coat [in a colour of your choice] new seals, stainless pistons, clean and check all threads etc, re-assmbley. If you require the hangers to match [or a different colour] these are £5.00each.
I prefer to recieve the brakes complete and as you remove them from the bike, pad pins, shims, grommets etc.
My stainless bleed nipples are £4.00each, banjos are £2.95each.
I can also supply brake hoses to your supplied lengths, teflon with outer stainless braid, all stainless fittings, various colours available, these are £19.50 per line.

icenian kindly sent me a caliper with the dreaded dust race disease to see if this can be repaired. Im half way through it and will re-post when its finished, until then i cant take on any that have this damage+there will be an additional cost for welding and re-machining, will still work out way cheaper than a new caliper and will be better than new anyway as it will be coated where the original is left bare alloy
