    Fatbars versus 'normal' bars

Just wondering what's to be gained by spending the extra 20 quid (60ish as opposed to 40ish) over the normal braced Renthal bars?

Are they as strong or are you just paying for the style??

    Cheers
    David

You'll actually be paying nearer the £100 mark, you need to but clamps as well...

I believe they are stronger, but by how much, I don't know... I've always figured that 7/8" bars would be strong enough.

But if you prefer the look of them, go for it.

    They look cool

Iv used far bars on supermoto and my old XT600E...

Being tapered you will need to replace your clamps and also anything else you clamp to your bars may not fit. Brush guards, GPS, etc..

To be honest, id stick to the braced ones as the cross member is somewhere nice to clamp stuff and you know everything else will fit just fine...

Hadn't thought about clamping stuff, in particular the handguards; good point.

Will probably stick with braced especially as the 'Dakar High' bars seem to be such a good swap for the Honda bars. Fat bars do look cool though!

    Cheers

Acerbis do an oversize clamp for their brush guards... just so you know

Another option istapered bars, larger at the clamp & stock where the usual stuff bolts on.
