xerapol on screens

My touring screen on the vara is looking increasingly scruffy with scratches etc all over it, and some crackly type blemishes on it, I've got a spare standard screen to use but I was wondering if anyone had ever tried cleaning up their screen with acrylic polish like xerapol, or is there anything else out there that anyone's used successfully ?

I have used super fine (1200) wet sand paper to take away the very deep scratches.

After that I used an abrasive polish specially made for polishing plastic windows in caravans (Trailer homes).

Finally I used Pledge Furniture polish.

It worked out very well.

Concerning the Xerapol, I have no experience from that brand.

Ditto the above. Wire wool then metal polish and then car polish. Came up like new

Brasso /T cut, any polish like these will aid in the removal of small surface scratches, fine wire wool like the man said is also good, just try a small area first and see how it goes.

I just done my caravan windows with Xerapol and a polishing machine, it's taken out all the light swirls and scratches that you can't really avoid when washing. I've tried all the other stuff over the years, fine wet/dry, brasso, T cut, Autoglym but the Xerapol has worked the best. I then done my 'Alp screen and it looks brand new. I believe that the way Xerapol works is by disolving a few microns of plastic and smoothing out deeper scratches so the light don't catch it and you don't see it as much. Think I paid sommat like £9 out of Hein Gericke for a tube. Pricey maybe but it did 6 caravan windows, alp screen and a small patch on my acrylic bath (for test purposes !!!)

Xerapol does miracles , I will confirm it too .

I use it over two years , with amazing results.

It can restore anything acrylic , But keep it away from your Helmet visor,
it will not work there .

Will it be ok on my xl 's plastics, side panels mudguards Etc. I normally use Autoglm metal polish!

Nop , its for touring screen , lights ( flash - stop ) , and for plastic head lights .

And thats about it , nothing more , other than cleaning CDs or DVD disks .

I use Autoglm for black bumpers, amazing stuff to revitalize the handlebar controls , rubber parts , and my touring plastic cases .

Xerapol application note :

THE APPLICATION
Clean the surface and apply a little paste.
Using a soft, clean cotton cloth or pad polish the scratched areas using heavy pressure for 2-3 minutes.

Do not use on any printed, varnished or coated surfaces.

For deep scratches repeat application several times. Remove residue with a cloth. Very deep scratches should be treated beforehand with special abrasive paper (granularity: 1600) and a little water. Polish afterwards with XERAPOL.
