Magnetic Oil bolt , an amazing discovery.

I like to share my experience , about my magnetic Oil bolt ..
or " Magnetic Drain Sump Oil Plug "

    http://dhost.info/ax1/html/part_upda...#magnetic-bolt

I got it because I liked to maximize the oil cleaning , from possible metal particles , that uses as hideout the the engine case .

After 3000 Km it came the time for my oil change .
By removing the magnetic bolt , I found on it , a pile of metal particles ,
formed as a cream , with very high density .

I let the oil to drain from the bolt , so to have a better look of it .
Afterwards , I started removing the material , by painting with it , one white paper .

This microscopic metal dust , started to shine on the paper .

I am very exited about my findings , the amount of the particles was allot , as the half of the magnetic body , and specially the top of it was full of them .
( Imagine one dark toothpaste , and you got the picture )

Thats was my first run with the magnetic bolt on .
Now I cleaned it , and and added fresh oil , now I have to hold on my curiosity , until the next 3000 Km Oil exchange .

Here is the eBAY seller , that after my findings , I do recommend with out doughs

I use one for similar reasons, it helps remove the fine particles.

I thought of using one from an old CRT television.

'FilterMag' are the folk your after for the filter magent - 2 halves that stick to the filter to form a ring around it - very impressive bit of kit, Seen some cut-away photos of a filter thats been used with one for a few months and you can see loads of metal 'sludge' clinging to the inside of the filter casing! There's one on my list for both bike and Landy.......

By the way , I had do one good research about magnets ,
the one that I got , are made by Neodymium .
More info here .. Neodymium - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As about the 3000Km oil exchange ,
My current engine (NX250) Its a fresh got .. second hand import from France , it came with 25000 km , and now I just hit the 31000 mark , did 6000Km .
I am trying to be gentle to it , as much as possible .

If you get a really strong magnet it may help save fuel as well, if the vehicle in front is made of metal.
