    Switchgear

The switchgear on my XL is very faded anyone have any tips on restoring it back to original finish.
I have tried back to black bumper cleaner with no joy.

    Re: Switchgear

Nothing really works well restoring switchgear plastic as once the plastic has been UV damaged, there is little that can be done other than replacing it or getting it resprayed and re-labelled professionally which can be pricy.

Back to black and stuff like that will make it look good for a few days but it starts going white again when it dries off. Good old fashioned shoe polish gets some colour back into it but you'll never get a great finish.

New switchgear casing is the guaranteed option and often switchgear housings are identical between various Honda models even if wiring differs (in which case, transfer all your old innards to the new casings).

    Re: Switchgear

    So no easy cure
I suppose a special plastic paint would be needed or at least a plastic primer
I may have a go myself if i cant find a decent replacement
