    PannierAdvice - wee strom

6 days away from getting the wee strom and i'm wondering about luggage...

i didn't go for the GT...just went with the A-spec....so along with my mods in mind.
    i'm not sure about luggage.
till now, all i've had is a pair of leather saddle bags (small and wont really go with the weestrom ) and a tank bag (is dos! love it)

but for panniers and top boxes, there i hit a stumble.

the stock luggage for the weestrom seems abit extortionate(got to buy the rack, the cases and the coloured covers specific for the bike ) and look somewhat awkward

wondering if anyone had any recomendations for me.

'm not too fussy between hard and soft luggage. though some nice cheap alum cases would be a god send lol

    so...any thoughts?

Cant really go wrong with a Givi Maxia 52 litre Top Box Givi E52 Maxia Monokey - Everything But Bikes I have one and it fits 2 helmets in. These can be had for about the £120 mark second hand.

I currently use the Givi E41 Panniers Givi E41 Keyless Panniers Monokey - Everything But Bikes and theres plenty of storage in them, If they are too big and wide for your needs then you could try the E21 panniers Givi E21 Monokey Panniers - Everything But Bikes I used to have these and they hold a half decent amount for a small pannier and filtering is no problem.

If you want to go with Ally panniers then forget pouratech as they will most likely set you back about £700+ instead i would contact Roger on ukgser forum as his Ard Cases look very good and all recomendations look good. ARDcase - Page 17 - ::. UKGSer.com .::

    Hope that helps..

i've got the GT with all the oem luggage. More space than necessary unless you're going 2-up camping. The panniers make the bike wider than i would like.

Personally I think Aluminium cases are OTT, you will pack too heavy and the extra drag will be noticeable at speed.

I've just ordered dirt-bagz for the drz, i think they can be fitted to the wee strom as well, with different bars. Worth considering.

    really looking into givi now
    thanks for that

i hear what your saying about alum cases

    more than i'd need tbh

but those givi v46 top boxes look pretty sexual

and the givi e21's look niceand economic for me

seems like a good combo. anyone got the e21 panniers? how useful are they.
i'm looking at doing some campings eventually. would they be practical enough for it or would it be too little storage.

cheers for all teh advice. my mind has really been swayed.

i do enjoy soft bags, and the alum cases just look like the cats pyjamas...but clearly the most sensible option has to be givi.

    much obligued dudes

    Re: PannierAdvice - wee strom

There are a few things to consider, I had the E21 panniers but upgraded to the E41 as i was starting to camp more and needed more storage space so if you camp a lot then the E21`s might be too small. Also don't forget that you have to purchase the Tubular side mounts and Top plate for topbox or a Wingrack for them to fit onto (not sure if a wingrack fits a strom but i know the PL Tubular ones do) so thats an extra cost over soft luggage but hard luggage is more secure.

I just sold my E21`s last week to a fellow member too...
