You could try your local hardware store (and no, I don't mean B&Q - but a proper one).
I found some that were moulded plastic in the shape of a "Y", with ridges (no sniggering at the back!) to grip the internal bore of the pipes.
Can post up a photo if it helps.

Most bike shops should sell a Y piece, just remember that it's gotta be suitable for petrol usage so not all Y pieces will do
