    Starcom/Autocom

Does anyone have a view (?!) on the best bike communications system?

And a specific question: do all systems require you to to use their own headphones? I have the headphones I want and want to be able to use them with a comms system.

    Thanks in advance,

    Philip

I think you can use your own headphones on either system, but the normal option is headsets inside the helmet.

Starcom are really nice people and will happily talk you through what you want and how to set up your system. They will even help you set it up if you go and visit them.

Starcom are about to launch wireless headsets too.

My starcom allows for the pillion to have their own ipod and mobile phone connected.

happy to give you a demo and even to try plugging in your headphones.

immediately thought about this and cannot see instantly how you would use your own headset as there would be no microphone. Best look on the starcom website - oh yes they do a kit with a socket for your own headphones.

Philip, I have a virtually new autocom system that I have only used with a 9v battery so far. Cabby has one half of it and my mate in Brixton has my helmet which contains the head set.You are welcome to borrow it for a while as i won't be riding for a while yet !
