    Running problem, No Fuel.

Thought i would post here as am getting no joy on the bike specific forum...

Got a Yam XTZ850 having problems with the carbs.

Carbs are not pulling fuel through from the tank, thought it was a problem with the vacume pump so eliminated that from the systam and gravity feed the carbs, no joy.

I got the bike to run when i poured fuel down the pipe and tipped it up so fuel was in the carbs and it fired straight away and ran breifly.

But for some reason the carbs themselves wont pull fuel through, anybody got any ideas on what could be the problem?

If fuel can enter the carbs then it will run.
You say it is not pulling through, That to me sounds like a blockage in the tank / tap area.
Check that the tap is working ( fuel flows from tank ), it may just be debris in the tap mechanism, or the Diaphragm.

Nope not that, both taps are working fine i know that as i have fuel everywhere from them...

Took the tank off, and tried with a small container, held up high to gravity feed it and that didnt work either.

Check the carbs where the fuel enters if it is not feeding on gravity then it is either a blockage in the fuel line or a damaged float.
