    Halfords LED lights

Just spotted some large LED (I guess they are position lights) in my local Halfords, anyone know if they are any good?

Just checked web site, they are "Ring Day Light Running Lights"...

I saw them in my local Halfords.
They are for day riding, I used to have a similar set inthe 1980's they are relayed to be on when your H/L and Sidelights are off.

    Re: Halfords LED lights

I just got some of these from halfords, 26 quid I think

    Ring Cruise-lite ice

    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165688

    They seem pretty good

They take bugger all current so I narrowed a couple of spade terminals and slid them into the back of a connector, secured with a small tyrap to the wire coming out of the connector.

Took the supply off the side light.

I looked at the regulations and they say that daylight running lights should come on with the ignition and must not have a separate switch to turn them on and off. My side light and dipped beam come on with the ignition anyway.

Mot in september so will see what they say.

    Just for info
In Australia they can use the indicators, bright all the time exept when indicating when they go dimmer and bright.
I can't see anything in our regs that would prohibit this but needs further investigation.

The 2 screws under the headlight that hold the under faring thingy on.
Put a longer selftapper with a rubber grommet for some shock absorbsion. (I give up trying to spell that word)
The connector is there abouts too.

Cool, they are a lot smaller than the ones I was looking at! Do you think they really help get you spotted on the road?

    Re: Halfords LED lights

They are physicaly smaller but stil have 8 leds, the larger ones don't have double the leds.

I am working on the principal that a single head liight or ligts one above the other are the ones that don't get noticed, (from a program on the telly) so I am creating a triangle, which is different.
as for brightness, I was certainly impressed when I swithched the hid light and the 2 daylight light lights on.
