    Bike security thought

I was doing a bit of maintenance on the TA and had the gear lever off and I thought eureka ..... what a fab way to stopping the bike getting nicked.

It would be O.K. if you could replace it in the exact position it was in prior to removal.
Also as long as you do not lose the gear lever.

    Re: Bike security thought

What a fab idea. My mountain bike wheels and seat post are secured by a quick release skewer mechanism which could be used for the gear lever on a motorbike. Maybe if the manufacturers gave this some thought, ie using the bike key to lock/unlock the gear lever it would be something that would make bikes harder to nick.
