    Compression tester

    Hi,

I'm planing to buy compression tester for testing compression on my motorbikes. I entered this keyword in E-bay and get 256 results with price range from 1 GBP to 500GBP
compression tester, Vehicle Parts Accessories, Business, Office Industrial, leak down tester items at low prices on eBay.co.uk

Which one to take. Is compression tester for aprx. 30 pounds any good. What to look for when buying. Is there any specific thing on which should I pay my attention.

    Regards

    Gregor

i cant comment on the quality of the kit without having it in my hand, but i can comment on compression testers having owned and used a few.

dont make the mistake of only getting a 2 gauge tester because you have a 1 or 2 cylinder bike, thats now but what about in the future? a 4 gauge will only cost a few quid more and can do 99% of bikes. (it is possible to sync 4 carbs with even a single gauge but it takes hours and really isnt worth the hassle!)

when you get the tester test the gauges for consistancy and leaks by putting each gauge on the same test outlet one by one and make sure they all read the same. if not, its worthless and send it back.

a haynes/clymer/dealer manual will have compressiion readings in it
