    not at all, in fact its got a lot going for it. the seals cope with the fuel, they come in a variety of sizes, and are a free byproduct every time you have a drink.
    ive used a couple of 2ltr lemonade bottles of petrol strapped to the bike before, used them up and threw them away.

    i dont see how you could use one as a fuel bottle for a pressurized stove though, if thats the sort of bottle this thread is about

    Hi lads, off on a slight tangent...... what carriers do you use for your bottles, i only want to carry water in mine and would like to put them onto my panniers, apart from Toureteck does anyone else make them ???

    i just used a bungee net for my lemonade bottles, but i think if you want a long term solution then the bottles would rub through eventually. if what touratech charge is an indication of the standard price for these things, i would definately make my own

    Quick update
    I've had fuel in these for a couple of months now and the stoppers have definitely started to swell up a bit. It's not by much but they are now a tighter fit in the bottle. I reckon 1mm at most. It's still easy enough to open and they are still leak free though.
