Removing end cap on Arrow Dakar Exhaust??

OK is there some sort of way of removing the end piece held in by 2 screws on the Arrow Dakar exhaust for the 600TA since after removing the screws no matter how hard I try to remove it using pliers for grip it moves about 1cm then wont move any further so needless to say I STILL haven’t been able to remove it?

    Any ideas???

I posted on the other thread that you asked on: the one about carb spares for the TA.

There must be an easier way than taking it all apart as you did just to remove the Db killer from the end?
Took me long enough to plug the gaps around it so not overly keen to take it all apart. Since only Dd killer I want out of it.

Took me thirty minutes! And that was working out how to do it as I went along!!

Once it is out, back pressure reduces and the gaps that may exist aren´t an issue.

Although given the size of the aperture, I would say that is was more than just a dB killer: mine feels like the carbs need some adjustment now it is out...

    Time for a thread revival.

How much louder is the Exhaust with the Db killer removed since can’t find the other post of yours about it?

Are we talking waking neighbours and setting off car alarms loud when leaving for work at 7am?

Just a thought, going back to the original question........ some of these exhaust cans have the "db-killer" fitted on a sort of bayonet coupling, so need to be twisted through (say) 30 degrees before withdrawal - after removing any locking screws/rivets.

I find mine is fruity on a gentle, quarter throttle and loud and mental on a WOT. My advice is leave your street on a quarter throttle.

Seriously, though. If you ride around town normally and don't nail it, it sounds fine.

Don’t suppose you know what size/type the Allen key bolts are since I need to replace the 2 that hold end cap in and been suggested I get them from B&Q?

Well so far bought M3 bolts that didnt fit so bought M4 bolts after being told they where right and took the exhaust apart tonight and they didnt fecking fit either and now managed to round off 2 of the original Allen bolts trying to put it together again so now cant put it back together properly yet and to add insult to injury
THE FECKING DB KILLER STILL WON'T COME OUT NO MATTER HOW HARD I YANK IT OR HIT THE BLOODY THING!!!!

So looks like I'll be using the car until I get take it all apart again and find what size the bloody bolts are that hold the tail piece on then take it to a bike shop and get them to try and pull the bloody Db killer out since I official give up with bloody thing!

Mine was not that big a head ache. Not easy but not that hard. I finally undid all the 6 allen bolts around the end and slid the entire end-cone, and inner mesh tube out of the can, so the actual end can remained empty save for the fibreglass filling.

I then used a length of metal (breaker bar) and kept dropping/propelling it into the back of the Db Killer. I came out about 0.5mm at a time and the collar is about 1.5cm deep. Since then I have angle-ground the top side of the collar so that I can get it in and out relatively easily should the boys in flak jackets "suggest" it. Spray some WD40 around it before hand too.

You could also heat the exhaust mouth with a blow torch to expand the metal before welting the db killer as suggested above.

Once out I eased the inner tube back into its fibreglass "nest" in the end can and replaced the 6 allen bolts. Done.
