Help! Belinda needs restricting!! - where to go??

Hi. Does anyone know where I can take Belinda (My Honda CBR600FS) to get her restricted! My 19 year old son is going to be buying Belinda from me....we have found the insurance, but it is dependent upon restricting the bike and producing a certificate to confirm this is done.

Hoping to find somewhere realiable and not too expensive in the Bucks/Berks area.

    Thanks all x

Probably not helpful but go flutter your eyelids and a packet of milk chocolate (as everyone knows they are the nicest!) hobnobs at a bike mechanic and ask him to 'sign here hun'

Other than that, have to do a ring around from the yellow pages and follow any leads they give you.

after much discussion with the local police etc we found out out do not need a certificate, just the kit fitted, if you can find secondhand one and get it fitted then get the bike dynoed just as an insurance it will save you the rip off of the kit new

Thanks for the ideas.... It is certainly cheaper to buy a kit and fit it ourselves but it is the insurance company that want the certificate......... sooooo I guess it's time to flutter my eyelids a little

Does anyone know a mechanic who takes payment in hobnobs????

do they specify that it has to be a BIKE mechanic?

just that I have 2 boat mechanics working for me, & havn't had a hobnob in years...

They'd have quite a distance to come to do the work..... so I guess they'll be wanting a whole packet!!!

Meesh, ask the insurance company why they want a certificate (and if they start umming and ahhing, push your point hard and you might get away without having to prove it). Chances are they'll accept a dyno run of the restricted bike which will be a lot easier to get. No-one in their right mind will sign a piece of paper saying "I did this work" if they didn't do it- Alternatively you could try a different insurer if possible (neither devitt or Adrian flux (bikesure) wanted proof of restriction from me)

Alternatively, there are kits you can get from germany for ~£100 (it's how I did my alp) that come with a restriction certificate in german
