    Carb balancing

I have just balanced my carbs on my 950 Adventure with one of these, it was one of the easiest jobs I’ve done on the bike,

I couldn’t believe how far out of balance the carbs had become, the gauge is very easy to read and the job took about 4 minutes, this will be something I will be checking at every service from now on

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Re: Carb balancing

I've had a set of dial gauges for balencing multi-cylinder engines for over 30 years. An uneven feel to the engine which lessens when the clutch lever is pulled is a good indicator of carbs/FI out of sync.

A friend with a CBX1000/6 asked me to sort his carbs recently, so I had to borrow another set of four gauges. The differance it made was suprising, as the bike had only had a service not long before the owner bringing it to me. It later transpired that the bike shop only had a set of 4 gauges.

This gauge is very easy to use go into this link

    KTM 950 Halls of Wisdom

    Then go down to
    Synchronizing the Carburetors
They show you how to do it with this gauge, this was one of the easiest things I’ve done on the bike
