The bike was a 250 and only 17 months old explain that ? I cant.
And no I am not concerned about cast wheel failier otherwise I'll have to wait until they devise some replacement for the wheel.
Cheers Paul

What about sticking caliper pistons? sticking them releasing then slitcking etc?
Clutching at straws, aren't I?

Not at all. That was my thought also!
Are you sure the pulsing is only under braking? or is it there all the time but only more noticeable under braking? I would have thought that a bent spoke would make the wheel out of true / balance which should be noticeable all the time, but maybe worse under braking.
Yup. I've had warped discs before and I knew the first time I braked on this one. Kinked spoke was new to me and I thought "maybe!!...."
Riding along: nothing out of the ordinary, any pressure on the lever and pulsing begins:
Harderbraking: spronger pulsing, faster speed: faster pulsing...
Oh well....
Head bearings?
If you have had the disc off and had it on a flat surface and a straight edge across it then you can rest assured it aint warped, if its running true to the wheel and hub then its fitted correct, as long as your caliper is not loose then thats it what more can you do....... except check the simple bits, like are the pads and disc clean, give the disc a scrub with a bit of sand paper or emery stick another set of pads in...give it a go....
So the answer to your question about a bent spoke etc.... I would say no.
faster speed: faster pulsing... .... does this mean that without the brakes being applied its still pulsing. ?????

What caused the spoke to bend? Maybe that has damaged the disc too. Or maybe the wheel is no longer true and the pulsing is caused by the whole wheel wobbling

There is a fine line between numerator and denominator.
