Exclamation Chain oiler reviews in RiDE magazine

Just a heads up as there are alot of questions about this on the forum. The forthcoming issue of RiDE magazine has a test on all the available chain oilers on the market, including Loobman and Scottoiler, it might be useful to someone on here

I bet they don't do a test on the trusty engine oil and paintbrush method!

I haven't got a finished copy so I can't confirm this but I think the Acumen one got 1st, Scottoiler got 2nd, and Loobman came last. It should be in the shops now, so I'll see if I can get a copy and scan the pages, and get them put up here.

Erm, anyone here heard of copyright infringement?

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

The issue doing chain oilers doesn't appear to be outyet. I'm a subscriber and normally get it 2 weeks before the shops get it and unless i've lost the latest one it's not in it.

I have feb17-march 16 issue infront me and thats only comparing polishes £2k bikes and the vfr1200. it says the oiler issue will be in shops march 17th, so maybe it is here kicking around somewhere

What was actually tested, the three mentioned or more?

I would be interested just for the hell of it, I'm happy with the ProOiler, now it's set

    The results were:-

TheLoobman didnt fare well but could be improved with a better delivery head and better instructions

The Acuman is very clever but mounting posion could cause a problem but was the cleanest system to refill, but it was high cost to refill

Scottoilers eSystem was a doddle to fit, has very good fixings but was too expensive and said acumens v system was better value for money

The recommended triangle went to acumen v system as does the PDoiler for being easy to fit great value for money and a few other touchesthe best buy went to the tutoro system it takes no time to fitvery secure and cost less than £20

Re: Chain oiler reviews in RiDE magazine

why test a £200 e-system when they still sell the much more popular and perfectly adequate job for (still a daft) £90?

scottoiler probably insisted their latest gizmo be the one tested, i bought my scottoiler years ago for £50 which was alright, and have taken it from bike to bike and its worked fine. £90 is too steep, £200 for it with an electronic thermometer on it is frankly ridiculous.
since RIDE tests include price as a factor, theyve shot themselves in the foot IMO
