    Rebuilding spoked wheels

Has anybody ever rebuilt spoked wheels? Have you any tips? I aim to buy replacement chromed rims and re spoke with stainless spokes. Any advice would be helpful. This is one job I have never done (have rebuild cycle wheels) and look at it as a challenge.

I did. I built a second spare for my Ural from two old Dnepr wheels!

I used this link as a guide: nice and simple to follow.

If you've done bicycle wheels you should have no problem with @ wheels.
I got a bicycle builder to do my front wheel year before last and he had no bother what so ever.
Only point that came up was which size spokes went where - I had cut off all the old ones without measuring them, so when I got the new ones it was trial and error as too which size went where to get the hub centered.
I got a rim & stainless spokes from Central Wheel Supplies. They took some time in delivering the goods, but what arrived was all good.

    Best of luck

Thanks Warthog for the link. I am buying the correct length spokes from David Silvers along with the rims.

    A word of warning!

I priced up original spokes for my rear Alp wheel, a local wheel builder rebuilt the wheel, supplying his own spokes for 1/2 the price of the spokes alone from Honda.....
