    Engine painting or not

Hi all, I've got a flakey engine (inside and out) and was wondering about folks experience of removing poor paintjobs on engines, my new (to me) XL600R has had a good splodge (or several) of black stuff over its 28 year life and some parts are back to the metal (and look a lot better for it)
What are my best (budget) options.
Removing the engine isn't my fist choice, but may well end up being the case if my rattle won't go away! if that helps.

This is a local firm to me who do a very good job (see there photo's) which certainly would do the job you want, on the down side you would have to remove the engine from the frame

I would only bother if the engine was being removed from the frame in the case of applying powder coating.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
