    Tow bars

Mods feel free to move if you want, chatter is sometimes a bit random so trying here first.
I'm looking to get a towbar fitted to our new (to us) scenic and wanted folks toughts and experiences on any of the following:

Quick release/ removable hitches/ balls- any good?

Do it yourself ebay deals? easy or not worth the hassle with french electrics (and too many thumbs)

Best sensibley priced make to go for?

Any national chains worth their salt (or steer clear of)

    Devon companies recommended

I usually only have a small trailer but like the option of a bike trailer or similar in the future (can't always rely on Boo) last car came with one already, so will miss it.

    Cheers

My L200 had the tow bar fitted when i got it a genuine mitsubishi part at nearly £1200 (god knows how) but my trailer has small wheels and on the way to GT Motorcycles in Plymouth I went here for some adaptors. They do complete installations, services anything you want i found them very good and knowlegeable. Could probably got the bits i wanted closer to home quite easily but they had them there and then so i bought them..

    Re: Tow bars

I fitted a diy kit to fit a Peugeot 406. Bought off ebay some years ago. Worked out fine. It was recognised model specific kit. Mechanically quite easy, big bolts fitted into chassis mountings. Electrics were aslo reasonably easy, loom commected into the rear lights. Couple of hours and it was done.

Quick look on ebay and Towequipe sounds familiar as the kit name and the seller was towbarman01, it was Feb 04, doesn't time fly. He's still selling with a rating of 76000.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks guys, I think the Marsh Barton place was used and recommended by my neighbours on a his old Disco, I know 2 folks that went to a local shop and both said they couldn't find their ar*e from their elbow.
I do like the idea of fitting my own, but I know if I did have a go, it wouldn't be finished this side of Christmas (and I'm not saying which one)
