Seat changes - a great resource

Just thought I'd share the experience I had yesterday of going to a motorbike specific seat upholsterers near Bournemouth. I have long legs and needed more room. I booked in with Daniel of Saxon Motorcycle seats in Christchurch. He gave me a coffee and we chatted about what I needed and exact positioning and density of foam etc. I then had what was like a fitting for a new suit. He mocked up height and positioning and foam density etc. I had a test and this was repeated until I felt it was just right. The whole thing took an hour and a half. He now needs a week to finish it off and put my choice of covering on.

Top young bloke - clearly knew and understood the needs of bikers. Obviously, I had had to buy a second hand seat off E-bay (which was also damn good service - ordered on Wed night at 9pm from a bloke in Scotland and it arrived on the Isle of Wight on Friday morning!). The cost of the whole thing (minus the 2nd hand seat which was £50) is £124 - cheaper than an airhawk.

His website is here: Welcome to the Frontpage

    Cheers!

i agree, its easy to get a seat tailor made and loads cheaper than off the shelf like sargent or corbin. and why the hell is a bit of bubblewrap like an airhawk so expensive?
i used to use bumwraps in bognor regis, i took a page from the corbin section of the M+P catalogue to them, discussed vinyls (ended with a two tone style with bike coloured piping inbetween) did a great job. also had a large XT seat recovered for £50. but theyve retired to sunny spain now.
