    Oiling cables

Hi, My throttle cable is beginning to stiffen up.

What is the best lube to put in it?

    Re: Oiling cables

youll need to buy a cable oiler aswell

here`s an old timer factory racing trick for a super slick throttle ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

remove said throttle tube , and get it bone dry and free from oils n grease etc etc , same for the handlebar last 4 inches

put some talk down the tube , and on the end of the handle bar ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, yes , i said talk !!!!!!

try it you`ll be amazed at the difference

as used by all the top race teams ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    Re: Oiling cables

A light oil like wd40 squirted down with a syringe while working the cable works for me

    I use 3 in 1 for cables, yes, I said 3 in 1
I find it a bit like a watch maker's oil, quite thin and hopefully not prone to damage linings etc.

    Re: Oiling cables

I use an oiler similar to this; Motorcycle Throttle Brake Cable Lubricator Oiler Tool | eBay . . . . . . with a silicone spray, . . . Teflon like jason uses may be even better.

just spray till it comes out of other end of the cable.

Or you could just give it a good 'talking' to.
