    Lake's Camp, Easter Weekend

Paul 24lb and I are heading to the Lake District over the Easter Hol's, no definate dates as yet it'll either be 15-16 and/or 16-17 April.

Maybe Buttermere or anyone know of a good site near a pub (or should that be, know of a site near a good pub!) towards the south of the Lake District?

As alway's, all welcome , If you could let me know if you have any preferance in dates.

Turner Hall campsite in Dunnerdale, near Seathwaite. A mere 5-minute-stumble-along-pitch-black-country-lane from the excellent Newfield Inn - they do food as well.

Handy for Hardknott and Wrynose Passes.

The campsite is very basic but the area is great.

    Hi all

For those who are or maybe coming to the lakes camp, here are the details to date (and no doubt subject to change )

Paul (24lb) and I are meeting on Saturday (15th) at the layby on the A66 near the Scotch Corner Hotel at 10 am, we will stop in Keswick 11.30 to 12ish for a cuppa and to meet up with anyone whose there at around the same time.

From Keswick we will head to the campsite, pitch and head for a bit of a ride (where, who knows!!!)

    Campsite;

Head out of Keswick on the B5289, towards Derwent Water, Borrowdale, Honister Pass, Buttermere etc.
Travel past Derwent Water to Borrowdale (wettest place in England...) and the Honister Pass are simply stunning .

Travel past Buttermere (lake) to Buttermere village (small Hamlet), where there is a left/right (if I recall...) kink in the road, turn left between the farm buildings and the Hotel/Pub (type thing) on the corner! Campsite car park is at the far end of the track, payment for the site is at the farm and seems to be a bit of a palava as I always seem to land at milking time (poor farmers....).

A rideout (not too far) will probably follow , depending on who's coming and when from where, we could perhaps meet en route

Back to the site, chill out, the rest is simple pub, food, beer, sleep, bacon butties and a cuppa (Sun am)

Unfortunately I need to be heading back mid morn on Sunday

I've booked some good weather for us all too

If anybody want's any more info or my mobile no feel free to PM me.

I will be travelling up the M6 from junction 23 if anyone is going that way.
