Shropshire Green Lanes - Mon 1st May

Next Monday I'm going to go for a pootle around the green lanes of Shropshire, and so I open this invitation to others to join me for the day. I'll be at the petrol station on the A49 in Church Stretton at about 10am, and at the end of the day we'll be back there. If you fancy coming along then knobblie tyres would be a good idea, as would a baffle in that obscenely loud pipe.

The weather forecast doesn't look too clever for Monday. Better bring some waterproofs I guess.

Talked the Wife into coming home a day early so i could get out on the ride . Trouble was after a rough night with the young 'un i didn't get to the meet point till gone 11 .
Anyhow carried on up the Burway onto the top and followed a number of paths and had a great time, thanks for the inspiration.
    Maybe some other time?
Hope you had a good day.

Turned out to be a challenging ride. The recent rain had made the muddier lanes very slippery. My TKC80 tyres were getting clogged up very easily. And the Hungerford Steps required two attempts, as the slick rock was just about impossible to get traction on. But at least it didn't rain all day.

I stuck to grassy and dry stone sections, my bridgestones wouldn't have coped with the mud.
