About LinkBacksHave been offered the use of a KTM300 for this years Weston, I have never done it but everybody says its total carnage? has anybody on XRV done this event and if so what did you think?

I have ridden a few KTM300s whilst greenlaning and they were a bit over the top for that, however I reckon one would be ideal for Weston. Having seen the bottlenecks on TV, I reckon an AT would be just about useless except on the wide open parts.Originally Posted by Jenna

Never did get to do it. Entered a few years ago but it was posponed coz of the high winds (had a tree fall right across our path on the way!). Could'nt do it the following week coz of work but my mate did. Half a lap and a broken ankle later he decided never again. Offer of a free bike is a big bonus as sand gets in everywhere and a decent stroker at that. Go on, you know it would be great to say you did it once. Next stop the Dakar

I go down most years as its on my door step.
Rob (fewtrees) was involved last year I think although it might have been the year before.
There was a KTM something or other big a couple of years ago.... I don't think it completed a lap though?
The sand is really far too deep to consider anything big and heavy.
You will drop it many many times and you'd be totaly knackered before you know it picking a big bike up.
This is one place where the 250's seem to really cut it with the 500's.
