Off Road Training, 25th Feb 2007, Bedfordshire.

The practice track near Leighton Buzzard is to start from the 21st Jan, I think a Sunday.
The plan from the organisers is to run 12 sessions or so a year, at £25 a time. It will be a members only type afair, with membership being £20 per year.

I've spent quite a bit of time on the track and in the woods, I've also raced there once. It is all possible on the TransAlp, so I guess it would work for @s and Dommies too, but I can't comment re. the big one!

There is some motorcross track, some flat track, some woods, some steep hills (short though, about 3-4m max) and 2 good river crossings, water might get up to about 75cm deep, poss. 1m if flooding. It can get very slippy when wet, really needs knobblies (TKCs minimum), but in the woods should be OK, if slow.

There is also some good green laning to be had nearby.

If any body fancies it, let me know, and I'll make sure we have places for the day.

Theres always the possibility of starting on the Saturday, and camping/crashing at ours, doing some good little roads and lanes, and having a beer or 2 in the evening

Here is the Google Earth view of the area:

It shows the car park area, top left, the MX track, which works in about 3 seperate zones, and the woods, running left to right in lower section of pic. The river is between the woods and the track, but does have a bridge near the lower section of the field (Field is probably not avaliable.)

Very interested but not 21 Jan. Another day later would be great.

I'm told they should be running about 12 events a year, so I'll keep letting people know.

There's still time/space for this folks! Any little bikes welcome too. I may well be on the TTR! (Slightly "worn" Transalp!)

Please do - can't make it this time, but would quite fancy giving it a go in the future!
