    More Big bike challenge

More on the BIG BIKE CHALLENGE.
Things have now move on a little bit on this. I was looking at doing it maybe on my @, but i just didn't want to get it mangled so the plan was to look for a minger or a dommy! But there isn't much around at the mo so I have now teamed up with a mate who has a varadero. Together we have got hold of 2 xt tenere's to do it on..................
So now we need as much info as possible as the site has not yet been updated for 2007.
Thanks to iswooly for the info......however your first date is in april red kite rally...................& the first date on the old 2006 bike challenge site was feb patrick james memorial rally, so i feel there is a missing link somewhere?
MUDWIZZ.....as ur doing it this year, can you enlighten us ...cheers

First Rally will be the Red Kite, on 8th April.
PJM is confirmed as not running this year, due to personal circumstances of the organisers.
Road books do not seem to be required, as the rallies now are using enduro style, or better, arrow markers.

Direct links to the organisers sites are on my and iswoolleys Blogs.

Good to hear your doing it!

Roadbook holders look cool though! I got an acerbis one from Motoward yamaha. www.motoward.co.uk
(Then the sites informed me they were not going to use roadbooks this year!)
Do you folks intend to ride to the rallies, or are you planning vans/trailers?

it will be in the van or may borrow a trailer for the vw camper, those tenere's are ok but you get a bit spoiled with an @.

    Red Kite here - http://www.enduronews.com/redkite07.pdf

Tarenig will be here - http://www.hafrendbc.co.uk/

but is not published as yet.

    Ryedale is here - http://www.enduronews.com/RyedaleRegs07Publ.doc

and none of the others are out yet.

Check my or iswooley blogs for other details.

Club memberships are normally needed, most rallies are "closed to club" which means you need to be a member, costs are either included or up to £5, which is OK.
You will need either an enduro licence from the ACU, which is £42 plus club fee, or one day licences which are £15 (I think!). If you are going to do 3 or more rallies, it makes sense to get an year licence, I joined Diamonds MCC, http://www.diamondsmcc.org.uk/ for £3. Marianne, who runs the club is a really good egg, and she remembers people too! (You need to join a club to get your licence application validated. I would download a licence form, http://www.acu.org.uk/info/joinus.aspx and have it stamped and signed by the club. (Can all be done by post)

If you are after the Red Kite, I think it makes sense to get your forms in pretty soon, as it is likely to be popular!

Cheers, keep asking, I'll share all I know
